Easter Opening Hours

The Library will be closed 

between Friday 25th March and Monday 28th March.

We will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 29th March.

Access via 24 hour swipe card will still be available during this time.

If you would like to use the library over the Easter weekend please contact the library team to register for a 24 hour card as soon as possible.

24 hour access is available to library members in return for a £20 refundable deposit.

Bystander CPR for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
A Swedish cohort study found that bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) doubled the likelihood of survival in people who experienced out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Effects of antimicrobial stewardship and infection control measures on MRSA infections
A retrospective observational study in Scotland found that an antimicrobial stewardship intervention combined with infection prevention and control measures reduced meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections in hospital and community settings.

Epidemiology of vivax malaria in the UK
An observational study reported that people of south Asian family origin visiting friends and relatives in countries with malaria accounted for the majority of cases of vivax malaria in the UK. Symptoms were most likely to appear during the UK summer months, irrespective of when the person acquired the infection abroad.

Delirium in critically ill people
A meta-analysis reported that critically ill people with delirium were more than twice as likely to die in the intensive care unit or hospital as people without delirium.

Smoke-free legislation and respiratory tract infections in children
A cohort study reported that the introduction of smoke-free legislation in England resulted in a 3.5% decrease in hospital admissions for acute respiratory tract infections in children.

Evidence summaries from NICE’s Medicines and Prescribing Programme
NICE has recently published summaries on:

  • Inflammatory lesions of papulopustular rosacea: ivermectin 10 mg/g cream
  • Major depressive disorder in older people: antidepressants
  • Resistant hypertension: spironolactone
  • Seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis: efficacy of grass pollen allergen sublingual immunotherapy tablets

  5. You will need to log in via the Trust network once very 3 months to keep your account active.
