Thank you for your patience. The Library refurbishment is now finished and the library will be open as normal this weekend. We have a lovely new floor and have had a good sort out.
We hope you like the changes we've made, we'd be pleased to hear your feedback.

Do I need usernames and passwords?
Yes, you will need an NHS Athens username and password to access the databases and any full text articles. You can register via:
https://register.athensams.net/nhs/nhseng/ If you register from an
NHS net computer your account will be ready to use straight away,
otherwise there may be a delay, while your account is checked.
Can I access them from my office / home?
Yes, your NHS Athens password will work from any internet connection.
But I can’t find any relevant articles…?
If you can't find exactly what you want, the library

e-Journals - what, when, how and why?
e-Journals are
a searchable, electronic version of a journal, available online.
- Convenient desktop full text access to nationally, regionally and locally subscribed journals.
- All NHS staff in Surrey have access to a range of electronic content.
- Read, print, download, when you want to.
- No paper cuts!
What e-Journals are available and how do I use them?
The NHS nationally provides access to 3500+ e-Journals. You can search for these using the
online catalogue or
MyJournals. Once you’ve found the journal you want, either browse the
content or follow the links to find a particular article.
Do I need usernames and passwords?
Yes, most of the time you will need an NHS Athens username and password. You can register via:

Yes, your NHS Athens password will work from any internet connection.
But I can’t find the one I want…?
Unfortunately
not everything is available in full text. Most of the time we can
quickly, obtain a copy of an article for you from another library.
Library refurbishment and re-organisation...it'll be worth it in the end!
If you've been over to the library during the past week you will have seen that we have a lot going on! Half of our smart new floor was laid last weekend with the remainder of the main library floor going down this weekend.
As we've had to move all the book and journal stock out of the way, things have been a little chaotic. It will be worth it in the end! In the meantime if you need help finding something please let us know.
We will be closed completely again this weekend from 5pm on Friday 12th through to 5pm on Monday 15th. We're sorry for any inconvenience this will cause but hope you'll agree that the changes we've made are for the better.
